Better Understanding the CIO in Pakistan

Published:

When we started floating the idea of bring a local edition of CIO to Pakistan, most people thought we were being a little immature. Not because the industry was small or anything – that was never the point. The point was more that we have a lot of IT Managers and MIS Heads that work within companies, but very few CIOs. And if that was the case, then why bother? But the problem was, we wanted to bother. Some people might argue that THAT was something we were really good at! :-)

So we’re approaching 6 months of CIO in Pakistan and in the time we’ve spent with or listening to IT Managers and MIS Heads, we’ve been impressed. Impressed at the challenging environment the Technology and Business savvy guy has to work within. So we’ve been reaching out to a greater number of these technology professionals to try and better understand what makes them tick. Who they are, what they do and what role people like us need to play to provide them with the support nobody else can give them. And so we’ve rolled out this survey to help identify and better understand just who the CIO, IT Head, IT Manager or Head of Operations really is.

Our December issue of CIO is dedicated in part, to outlining this profile and understanding who he is and what his role is in the organization. If you think you fit the description or know someone who does, we have a few more days before survey hits its deadline. It should take you approximately 8 minutes to respond to the questions and your name and company name will be kept confidential. Please pass the word around. Many thanks in advance for your cooperation! (Oh yes, and please look out for the next issue to see what these survey results reveal!)
