Systems Limited has been recognized at the Temenos Regional Forum 2026 APAC for successfully modernizing the core banking platform of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The recognition highlights one of the company’s most significant banking transformation projects, which involved upgrading BSI core banking environment to the latest Temenos Transact release running on Red Hat OpenShift. The modernization initiative was designed to support nearly 25 million existing customers while providing the scalability needed to accommodate future growth. The project reflects the increasing focus among financial institutions on modernizing legacy banking infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, resilience, and long term scalability.

The transformation was delivered through close collaboration between Systems Limited, Temenos, and BSI. As part of the engagement, the bank core banking platform was upgraded from Temenos Transact R10 to R24 on Red Hat OpenShift, bridging a technology gap that had developed over approximately 15 years. The project also included the modernization of banking products and services while ensuring continuity of operations throughout the migration process. One of the most demanding aspects of the initiative involved migrating 64TB of data from the existing environment to the new platform. The final transition was completed during a carefully managed weekend cutover window, enabling the migration to take place with controlled execution while minimizing disruption to banking services. Successfully completing a transformation of this scale required detailed planning, technical expertise, and coordinated execution across multiple teams.

According to Systems Limited, the modernization has established a stronger technology foundation that enables greater agility, resilience, and operational efficiency for PT Bank Syariah Indonesia. By adopting the latest version of Temenos Transact on Red Hat OpenShift, the bank is positioned to support continued customer growth while enhancing the flexibility of its digital banking operations. The project also demonstrates the growing adoption of cloud native technologies within the banking sector as financial institutions continue replacing aging infrastructure with modern platforms capable of supporting evolving business requirements. The combination of updated core banking technology, modernized product architecture, and improved infrastructure provides the bank with an environment that is better suited for ongoing innovation and future expansion.

Systems Limited stated that the recognition at the Temenos Regional Forum 2026 APAC is particularly meaningful because of the scale, complexity, and precision required to deliver the programme successfully. The company noted that the transformation reflects its expertise in executing mission critical core banking modernization projects by combining deep knowledge of Temenos technologies, engineering capabilities, and disciplined project delivery. Working alongside BSI and Temenos, the organization completed one of its most complex banking technology initiatives while delivering measurable modernization outcomes for one of the region largest Islamic banks. The recognition also underscores the importance of collaboration between technology providers and financial institutions in delivering large scale digital transformation programmes that strengthen banking infrastructure and support future business growth.
