Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has successfully completed the conversion of its enterprise systems to SAP S/4HANA, marking one of the most complex brownfield implementations of the platform in Pakistan’s corporate sector. The transition strengthens the company’s digital transformation strategy by enabling real-time insights, stronger integration, and improved performance across its operations.
The project was executed under the leadership of Syed Taha, Managing Director of PSO, and Mohsin Mangi, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer. Their direction and commitment played a central role in driving the upgrade initiative across PSO’s integrated enterprise landscape.
The in-house SAP team at PSO, including Shamoon Ahmed Khan, Hashaam Waheed, Faraz Khalili, Mazhar Hafeez, Mehar Afroze, and other contributors, was acknowledged for its role in steering the project through to successful completion.
PSO’s technology partner, TMC Pvt. Ltd., provided the implementation support for the conversion. The firm’s efforts were led by Abdul Haseeb, supported by team members including Taimoor Tahir, Adnan Raza, Sohaib Amjad, Umer Shehzad, Ammar Arif, Noman Farooque, Shayyan, and Talha Aftab. Their collaboration with PSO’s internal teams ensured the project remained aligned with global enterprise standards while meeting local business requirements.
The brownfield conversion to SAP S/4HANA enables PSO to retain its existing business processes while shifting to an advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This approach reduces disruption during the migration phase while positioning the company to benefit from S/4HANA’s enhanced capabilities.
According to PSO, the system upgrade will allow the company to streamline operations and leverage advanced analytics for decision-making. By moving to SAP S/4HANA, PSO joins a growing number of organizations in the energy and corporate sectors adopting next-generation ERP platforms to enhance efficiency and long-term competitiveness.
The implementation is considered significant within Pakistan’s technology landscape, given the scale and complexity of PSO’s operations as a major player in the country’s energy sector. It reflects a wider trend of large enterprises in Pakistan moving toward integrated digital transformation initiatives.
