Sky47 Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Wateen Telecom Limited aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s high capacity digital backbone and supporting the growing demand for advanced data center, cloud, and enterprise workloads across major urban centers. The agreement was formally signed by Mr. Hassan Abbas, Chief Executive Officer of Sky47 Limited, and Mr. Adil Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of Wateen Telecom, in the presence of senior leadership from both organizations. The collaboration reflects a shared focus on enhancing national connectivity and building resilient infrastructure capable of supporting modern digital services at scale, as enterprises and public sector institutions continue to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across the country.
The partnership aligns closely with Sky47’s broader mission to establish what it describes as Pakistan’s most advanced, AI ready, Tier III and Tier IV certified data center ecosystem. By working with a nationwide connectivity provider, Sky47 aims to accelerate the deployment of secure, scalable, and future ready digital infrastructure that supports Pakistan’s Cloud First policy. Demand for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high performance computing workloads is increasing steadily, placing greater emphasis on reliable connectivity and carrier neutral facilities. Sky47 views this collaboration as a key step in addressing these requirements while ensuring that infrastructure is designed to meet international standards for availability, redundancy, and security.
Under the agreement, Sky47’s carrier neutral data center campuses in Karachi and Islamabad will be supported by Wateen Telecom’s high capacity fiber connectivity, advanced national backbone, and enterprise grade MPLS services. A planned expansion into Lahore is also part of Sky47’s roadmap, extending the reach of this infrastructure to another major commercial and industrial hub. The integrated connectivity framework is intended to deliver consistent performance and reliability for mission critical workloads, enabling hyperscalers, large enterprises, and government organizations to deploy and manage services with greater confidence. The availability of resilient fiber routes and national scale connectivity is expected to improve service continuity and reduce operational risk for organizations hosting sensitive and high volume workloads.
Executives from both companies emphasized that the collaboration is designed to create long term value for Pakistan’s digital economy rather than focusing solely on near term capacity expansion. By combining Sky47’s data center expertise with Wateen Telecom’s nationwide network footprint, the partnership aims to provide a platform capable of supporting sustained growth in data driven services. This includes not only cloud and enterprise applications but also emerging use cases tied to artificial intelligence, analytics, and next generation digital services. As organizations increasingly rely on secure and high performance infrastructure to operate and innovate, such partnerships are becoming central to national technology ecosystems. Sky47’s leadership positions the company as a foundational enabler for enterprises seeking scalable and secure environments, while Wateen Telecom’s role strengthens its presence as a key connectivity provider supporting Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape.
