F5 Highlights Enterprise AI Security and Governance for Oman Digital Transformation

Published:

As enterprises across Oman continue expanding their use of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies, F5 is placing greater emphasis on the importance of securing AI environments through stronger governance, visibility and policy enforcement. During two customer engagements held in Muscat, the company outlined how the rapid adoption of AI is introducing new operational and cybersecurity considerations for organisations. With AI systems becoming more autonomous, employees increasingly using AI tools in daily workflows and APIs connecting a growing number of applications and services, enterprises are facing a broader security landscape that requires continuous monitoring and control. F5 said these developments are making AI security an essential component of successful digital transformation initiatives across the country.

The events included F5 Academy Oman, which delivered technical training on F5 technologies for customers, and the F5 Technology Showcase organised with Otech, where customers and partners discussed cybersecurity strategies and application delivery requirements for AI driven environments. These discussions reflected the increasing need for organisations to strengthen governance as AI adoption expands across industries. According to the F5 2026 State of Application Strategy Report, 88 percent of organisations experienced at least one AI related operational or security challenge during the past year. This finding highlights how enterprises are now moving beyond protecting individual AI models to managing a much larger ecosystem that includes AI applications, intelligent agents, APIs and employee interactions. Sami Saber, Regional Sales Manager and Oman Country Manager at F5, said Oman is advancing AI adoption through initiatives such as the National Programme for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Digital Technologies, making strong security and governance essential for organisations seeking to deploy these technologies safely and at scale.

To support these requirements, F5 showcased its AI Security Platform, which is designed to provide continuous visibility, governance and protection across enterprise AI applications, models, intelligent agents and the APIs that connect them. The platform extends F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform strategy by offering organisations a continuous approach to discovering, testing, governing and protecting AI workloads throughout their lifecycle. F5 also demonstrated enhancements to its AI Gateway, which serves as a central control point for enforcing security policies across AI requests while managing how models, agents and associated tools are accessed and used within enterprise environments. In addition, the company highlighted the upcoming availability of Workforce AI Security, an agentless capability that provides visibility into employee AI usage while enabling policy controls over actions performed by AI agents on behalf of users. These capabilities are intended to help organisations maintain consistent governance as AI becomes integrated into business operations.

F5 noted that one of the growing concerns facing enterprises is the rise of shadow AI, where employees independently adopt unauthorised AI tools or integrations outside established governance frameworks. Such activity can increase the attack surface while making it more difficult for organisations to maintain visibility and consistent security controls across their digital environments. As Oman advances its broader digital transformation objectives under Oman Vision 2040, businesses are increasingly focused on balancing innovation with effective risk management. F5 believes that successfully scaling enterprise AI requires organisations to maintain continuous oversight of technology, data, identities and application connections rather than focusing solely on individual AI models. Through its customer engagements in Muscat, the company reinforced that AI adoption and AI security must evolve together, with visibility, governance and policy driven protection becoming fundamental requirements for organisations deploying artificial intelligence across enterprise operations.
