Pakistan’s Defence Officers Housing Authority (DHA) has long been synonymous with unparalleled living standards for its residents. With 8,797 acres of prime land under its management, DHA Karachi serves as home to a vast community comprising armed forces officers, civilians, and heirs of deceased members, totaling 81,489 individuals. The authority boasts an extensive infrastructure network, including 466 km of roadways, 605 km of water supply, and a 470 km sewer network, ensuring seamless connectivity and essential services for its residents.
As DHA continues to expand and evolve, the need for efficient management systems becomes increasingly critical to meet growing demands and deliver services promptly. To address this challenge, DHA Karachi has embarked on a digital transformation journey by implementing a cloud system to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
In a strategic move, DHA Karachi has partnered with Sangfor Technologies, a leading provider of innovative IT solutions, to develop a comprehensive cloud infrastructure. Under the agreement, Sangfor will deploy its full Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) software stack, along with advanced security products such as firewalls and SDWAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), to build a scalable and secure cloud solution.
The new cloud system will serve as the hosting platform for DHA Karachi’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and other critical workloads. Moreover, it will extend its services to universities and schools operating under DHA’s umbrella, with DHA serving as their primary service provider.
Sangfor Technologies expressed gratitude to their partner Mega Plus for their support in achieving this significant milestone. They also commended DHA Karachi for recognizing the value of adopting a modern, state-of-the-art Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) approach over traditional data center solutions.
