Communication technology: Digital media still unexplored in Pakistan

Fazal Ashfaq, CEO of B Solution, a Lahore based digital ad agency, told press that despite a boom in digital advertising in Pakistan, its share remain very minute in total ad spends. Digital ad spends increased in 2011 from Rs560 million to Rs1 billion in 2012 while total ad spends are estimated to be $386 million. He emphasizes that entrepreneurs should adopt digital advertising as a strategic component of their business considering the latest trends and technologies. 

 

Senate Directs PTA for Unverified SIMS

The Senate Standing Committee on Interior the Ministry of Interior, PTA and Ministry of Information Technology to develop a comprehensive policy regarding unverified mobile phone SIMs in Pakistan as it is a great concern for law enforcement agencies. Unverified SIMs are used in criminal activities and they are great threat for the stability of law and order in Pakistan.

The See It Feature on Twitter

Comcast Corp designs a new remote control feature in collaboration with Twitter that will allow users to tune in to live TV channels via a tweet. The feature is called ‘See It’ that allows users to tune in to On Demand shows through their set-top box or mobile device. 

 

Office for iPad to debut after touch-friendly Windows version

Microsoft has previously launched an Office version for iPhone without the support for the iPads and now it is planning to bring Office to the iPad with a touch user interface which is likely to make its way to the Windows version of Office.
