Sunrate Expands Pakistan Presence With Cross Border Payment And Treasury Platform

Published:

Sunrate, the global payment and treasury management platform, has officially launched its operations in Pakistan, expanding its support for one of the world’s rapidly growing digital economies. The company announced the launch during its event, “On the Front Foot, Pakistan,” held at The Nishat Hotel in Lahore, which brought together senior banking professionals, technology founders, e-commerce operators, and digital business leaders. The launch represents the next phase of Sunrate’s presence in Pakistan, where the company has already been supporting businesses operating across international markets. With a local team and dedicated support services, Sunrate aims to provide Pakistan’s digital exporters with access to global payment and treasury infrastructure that can help them receive international payments, manage foreign exchange requirements, and operate across multiple currencies as they expand their global reach.

Pakistan’s digital economy has continued to strengthen its connections with international markets, with IT companies, software firms, freelancers, digital agencies, e-commerce sellers, and technology businesses increasingly serving customers worldwide. As more businesses generate revenue through international platforms and overseas clients, access to efficient financial infrastructure has become an important factor in helping them scale operations. Through its global network and local presence, Sunrate plans to provide digital businesses in Pakistan with more options for managing cross border payments and foreign exchange activities while offering local support for companies navigating international financial operations. Sunrate Co-founder Joshua Bao said Pakistan is an important market in the company’s global strategy because of its expanding technology sector, strong digital talent pool, and growing number of businesses serving international customers. He said the company aims to reduce challenges associated with global payments and help businesses manage money more efficiently across borders. Bao added that Sunrate’s launch in Pakistan reflects a long term commitment to supporting the country’s digital economy while building relationships with businesses, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners.

Sunrate’s Pakistan operations will focus on companies with international revenue streams and cross border financial needs, including IT and software companies, freelancers, digital agencies, e-commerce and marketplace sellers, gaming businesses, technology companies, and other digital first organizations. Through its platform, businesses can access multi currency payment solutions and foreign exchange services designed to simplify international financial management. The company’s global infrastructure enables organizations to manage international financial flows more efficiently as they expand into new regions and work with overseas customers and partners. The launch event, “On the Front Foot, Pakistan,” was inspired by cricket, a significant part of Pakistan’s culture, and highlighted the idea of businesses stepping forward to capture global opportunities. Under the theme “Pakistan on the front foot and Sunrate enabling every stride,” the event focused on the increasing ability of Pakistani digital businesses to compete internationally through technology services, global contracts, online marketplaces, and digital products.

The event featured discussions on technology, artificial intelligence, and financial infrastructure required to support Pakistan’s digital growth. A founder panel titled “Technology First: How AI Is Rewriting the Rules for Pakistani Businesses Going Global” discussed how AI and emerging technologies are influencing international competitiveness for Pakistani companies. The session included Furqan Aziz, CEO and Founder of InvoZone; Nadia Saad Rana, CEO and Creative Director of Typespace; Umer Hiyat, Co-Founder and CEO of Nano Technology Solutions; and Nimra Sardar, Board Member of the International Game Developers Association. Another discussion, “Beyond Traditional Banking: Building Financial Infrastructure for Pakistan’s Digital Export Economy,” examined the evolving role of financial institutions in supporting businesses that increasingly operate across borders. The session was moderated by Mohsin Muzaffer and included representatives from Sunrate banking partners and stakeholders from Pakistan’s financial sector.

Speaking at the event, Mohsin Muzaffer, Head of Middle East and South Asia at Sunrate, said Pakistan’s digital economy is creating opportunities for businesses to serve international customers and generate global revenue. He highlighted that IT exports have reached US$4.6 billion and said Sunrate aims to contribute to further growth by providing technology companies, SMEs, freelancers, and digital businesses with cross border payment and foreign exchange solutions supported by local assistance. The launch event also included a partner recognition ceremony celebrating Sunrate’s channel partners in Pakistan and highlighting collaboration across the technology and financial ecosystem. Following the launch, Sunrate plans to continue expanding its local presence, strengthening relationships with banking and business partners, growing its local team, and supporting more Pakistani companies as they enter international markets and manage increasingly complex financial operations.
