Product Review: Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4 vs Google Nexus and iPad Retina

Published:

Samsung recently came out with a new set of high-end tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show, 2014 this past Monday. Since proof is in the pudding, especially when compared with another pudding, Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4’s worth can only be gauged by how it compares when pitted against its rivals.

Size and Build

Galaxy featured them in three different sizes: 8.4, 10.1, 12.2 inches. The basic storage space is 16 GB; a 32 GB memory is also an option. Extra space of about 64 GB is also allotted to the phone on its card slot. The false leather back of the Galaxy tab Pro with the stitching affect makes for great ease while holding it.

Display

Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro has an 8-inch screen that ‘packs in more pixels than Apple’s new iPad mini with Retina display.’ This is something that both Nexus and iPad lack in.

Software

The Snapdragon 800 quad-core processing chip works at 2.3GHz, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. Nexus, in this regard, is different. It uses the stock version of Android but will be the first among the rest of the devices to receive any future OS update.

Conclusion

The specifications of Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO are many, compared to its siblings, as well as Nexus 7 and iPad mini. The deciding factor between the two could be the pricing of Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro, which hasn’t been revealed as yet but stands to be at the high end, sources say.
