UAE based technology talent company Mahala.ai has introduced a remote hiring model designed to help organizations across the Gulf Cooperation Council address the growing shortage of experienced artificial intelligence and data professionals while ensuring that sensitive information remains within national borders. The initiative comes as governments and enterprises across the UAE and Saudi Arabia continue to increase investment in sovereign artificial intelligence, domestic data centres and locally controlled cloud infrastructure. As organizations expand AI adoption, the demand for experienced professionals capable of preparing, managing and governing enterprise data has grown significantly. However, many of these specialists are located outside the region and are often unwilling to relocate for short term or project based assignments. Mahala.ai said its new approach allows organizations to access international expertise without requiring sensitive or regulated data to leave the country where it is hosted.
Under the new model, Mahala.ai will connect government, semi government and private sector organizations with remote data engineers, data scientists, artificial intelligence specialists, machine learning experts and MLOps professionals. Instead of accessing data directly through external systems, these specialists will work within each organization’s sovereign infrastructure or virtual desktop environment, commonly known as a VDI. According to the company, this approach enables regulated information to remain inside the relevant jurisdiction while allowing businesses to benefit from experienced international professionals. The model is particularly aimed at highly regulated industries including government, financial services, insurance, energy, transportation and logistics, where strict data localization and security requirements have traditionally limited the ability to hire remote specialists. By separating the physical location of employees from the location where data is stored, Mahala.ai believes organizations can overcome one of the biggest barriers to securing experienced AI professionals.
Commenting on the launch, Amir Grabic, Co Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mahala.ai, said the GCC has strong ambitions for artificial intelligence but faces a critical shortage of experienced professionals capable of delivering enterprise AI projects. He stated that many AI initiatives struggle not because of the underlying models but because organizations lack senior experts with experience in building reliable data foundations and implementing large scale AI solutions. According to Grabic, Mahala.ai’s approach allows organizations to bring experienced professionals into secure enterprise environments remotely while ensuring that regulated data remains protected. The company said it will provide clients with a shortlist of two or three qualified candidates within 72 hours of receiving project requirements. Applicants will be evaluated based on technical expertise, enterprise project delivery experience, consulting capabilities and compliance readiness. Mahala.ai added that only candidates achieving at least 75 out of 100 in its assessment process will be accepted, with approximately one in every seven applicants meeting the required standard.
To strengthen trust in the hiring process, Mahala.ai said candidate credentials and employment histories will be independently verified by DataFlow, a primary source verification company operating in the UAE. The company also stated that customers will benefit from a single commercial agreement that includes compliance support throughout the engagement, along with a one month replacement guarantee if a selected specialist does not meet project requirements. According to Amir Grabic, independently verified experience is essential for organizations operating in regulated sectors because it helps ensure that professionals can contribute effectively from the start of a project. Mahala.ai noted that its founders have extensive backgrounds in enterprise technology delivery, digital transformation and regulated industries, positioning the company as a specialist technology delivery partner focused on helping organizations successfully implement artificial intelligence initiatives rather than operating as a traditional high volume recruitment agency.
