Honeywell Forge Cognition Platform Expands Physical AI For Industrial And Building Operations

Published:

Honeywell Technologies has introduced Forge Cognition, a new agentic artificial intelligence and simulation platform designed to improve the management of buildings, campuses, and industrial facilities through the use of AI agents and digital twins. Developed with technology from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies, the platform combines artificial intelligence with real time operational data to help organizations monitor assets, improve energy efficiency, and optimize facility performance. Dell Technologies provides the AI infrastructure and services required to develop, train, and operationalize the AI models behind the platform, while NVIDIA contributes accelerated computing, AI models, and simulation technologies that support intelligent physical operations. According to Honeywell Technologies, Forge Cognition is built to integrate with existing customer deployments, enabling organizations to enhance current infrastructure rather than replace it. More information about the announcement is available at Honeywell Technologies.

Forge Cognition combines decades of Honeywell Technologies operational expertise with AI powered analytics to create a structured knowledge base capable of understanding how physical systems interact in real world environments. The platform connects to existing building management and industrial systems, allowing AI agents to analyze equipment behavior, identify emerging issues, and coordinate responses across connected infrastructure. By combining AI agents with real time digital twins, operators can simulate different operating conditions, evaluate maintenance strategies, and make informed decisions before implementing changes. Honeywell Technologies said the platform supports manual, semi autonomous, and autonomous operating modes, allowing customers to determine the appropriate level of human oversight while maintaining the ability to intervene whenever necessary. Initial applications include intelligent alarm management that helps reduce false alerts, predictive monitoring of HVAC equipment to identify maintenance needs before failures occur, and energy optimization capabilities that help reduce consumption while maintaining occupant comfort.

The platform is powered by multiple technologies from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies that enable advanced physical AI capabilities. NVIDIA Nemotron open models support AI agents that interpret operational data, including alarm classification systems that continue improving through operator feedback. NVIDIA Omniverse libraries provide physically accurate digital simulations that allow organizations to model building performance and evaluate operational changes before deployment. In addition, NVIDIA Cosmos open models combined with NVIDIA Metropolis VSS Blueprint enable vision based AI agents capable of understanding, searching, and summarizing information from live and recorded sensor data. The platform utilizes NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs and is expanding to support far edge deployments through NVIDIA DGX Spark systems. Dell Technologies supports the platform through Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, providing Dell PowerEdge XE servers, Dell AI Data Platform storage technologies, cyber resiliency capabilities, and professional services that enable Honeywell Technologies to build, train, and scale AI models for intelligent physical operations across enterprise environments.

Honeywell Technologies has already begun piloting Forge Cognition at several customer locations, including NVIDIA’s Voyager campus in Santa Clara, Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, NEX Mall in Singapore, Vanderbilt University in the United States, and Honeywell Technologies campuses in Bangalore and Richardson, Texas. Results from the deployment at NVIDIA’s Voyager campus demonstrate measurable operational improvements, including an average reduction of up to 90 percent in unnecessary building management alerts, predictive monitoring of HVAC systems to support maintenance planning, identification of opportunities to reduce energy and utility consumption by up to 10 percent, and maintaining a comfort score above 95 percent based on temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide measurements across facility zones. Honeywell Technologies said these deployments demonstrate how physical AI can enhance operational efficiency across complex facilities while providing organizations with practical tools to improve reliability, sustainability, and decision making across more than 300,000 sites where the company’s technologies are already deployed.
