Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan Northern Regional Committee organized a two day workshop titled “Data Analysis & Visualization Using Microsoft Power BI (Level 1)” to strengthen practical understanding of data analysis, reporting, and visualization among professionals and participants. Held on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, 2026, the in person training session took place at ICAP House Islamabad from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., bringing together professionals interested in enhancing their capabilities in one of the most widely used business intelligence and analytics platforms.
The workshop was designed to provide participants with practical exposure to Microsoft Power BI, a platform increasingly used by organizations to transform data into meaningful insights for business reporting and decision making. With growing demand for analytics driven operations across industries, the training focused on equipping attendees with hands on knowledge related to data analysis, reporting techniques, and visualization methods using Power BI tools. Participants were introduced to practical workflows aimed at helping them understand how businesses can convert large volumes of information into actionable dashboards and reports. The initiative also reflected broader efforts within professional institutions to support digital skills development and improve technology adoption among finance and business professionals.
The event was attended by more than 30 participants who remained actively involved throughout the two day training session. According to organizers, the workshop maintained a strong focus on practical application, allowing attendees to gain direct exposure to Power BI functionalities through guided exercises and demonstrations. The training session was conducted by Ahmed Shoaib, whose presentation style and practical approach received positive feedback from participants for being relevant and useful to real world workplace scenarios. The emphasis on hands on learning was intended to help attendees build confidence in applying analytical and visualization tools to support reporting requirements and business performance analysis.
The workshop was also attended by senior representatives of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. Mr. Jehan Zeb Amin, Vice President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, graced the occasion, while Mr. Ahmad Salman Arshad, Chairman Members Coordination Group of NRC, delivered the opening remarks at the start of the program. At the close of the training session, Mr. Aneel Peter, Chairman NRC, addressed participants and shared concluding remarks following the completion of the two day workshop. Through initiatives focused on practical technology education, professional organizations are continuing to encourage greater familiarity with data tools that are becoming increasingly relevant across finance, accounting, and business operations in Pakistan.
