NRTC Energies (Private) Limited and Mian Latif Paper & Board Mills, Sheikhupura, have signed a strategic agreement for the deployment of Huawei’s Smart Microgrid Solution, introducing a major battery energy storage project for Pakistan’s paper and board industry. Under the agreement, the project will feature a 7.668 MW / 15.045 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), integrated with 5 MW of Solar PV at the Mian Latif Paper & Board Mills facility in Sheikhupura. According to the companies, the initiative represents Pakistan’s first major BESS breakthrough in the paper and board industry. The deployment brings together battery storage, solar generation and smart microgrid technology as part of an industrial energy solution designed to support more resilient and sustainable power operations. The project highlights the increasing role of energy storage in industrial environments, where reliable electricity supply and effective management of renewable energy can be important considerations for ongoing operations.
