Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda gained further momentum as an Electronic Certification Accreditation Council (ECAC) Awareness Session brought together international experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from Pakistan’s public and private sectors to discuss secure digital ecosystems, electronic certification, and trusted governance frameworks. The awareness session featured insights into advanced digital society models and practical approaches that can support Pakistan’s ambitions for a more connected and digitally enabled future.
The session was led by global experts including Péter Máté Erdősi, WebTrust Auditor and Director at Crowe FST Audit Hungary, alongside Liaquat Khan, CEO of Ascertia. Discussions during the event focused on internationally recognized digital governance frameworks and explored how trusted digital identity systems can strengthen public and private sector services. Participants received an in depth overview of world leading e governance models, with particular attention to digital trust infrastructure, secure electronic transactions, and the role of electronic certification in enabling efficient digital services. The experts highlighted how advanced economies have implemented secure frameworks to support transparent online systems, citizen accessibility, and trusted digital interactions. Estonia’s digital governance practices and Hungary’s experience in trusted assurance frameworks were also discussed as examples of established approaches to digital administration and secure digital ecosystems.
A key focus of the awareness session remained on remote signing workflows and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) trust frameworks that enable secure digital authentication, electronic signatures, and protected communication channels. Participants explored how PKI based systems can help strengthen confidence in digital transactions while reducing administrative inefficiencies and improving operational security. The discussions also covered Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services (eIDAS) aligned approaches and the significance of WebTrust assurance in establishing trusted digital certification ecosystems. Speakers shared practical insights into how countries and institutions can establish secure digital trust frameworks that meet global standards while supporting economic and technological development.
The event also served as a platform for collaboration between Pakistan’s public institutions, regulatory bodies, technology stakeholders, and enterprise sectors working toward a digitally connected ecosystem. Representatives from Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, Pakistan Digital Authority, National CERT Pakistan, National Telecommunication Corporation, Ascertia, Crowe Hussain Chaudhury & Co., alongside participants from banking and telecom sectors actively engaged in the session. Their participation reflected growing interest in secure digital transformation frameworks and the need for stronger collaboration to accelerate trusted electronic services across industries. The ECAC Awareness Session also presented practical roadmaps relevant to Digital Pakistan, encouraging knowledge sharing between international experts and local stakeholders to help support the country’s broader digital governance objectives while strengthening cyber security, digital literacy, and institutional trust in electronic systems.
