Transworld Partners with CNS Engineering to Launch AI Optimized Tier-III Data Center

Published:

Transworld Associates, renowned for its leadership in submarine cable infrastructure and international connectivity, has officially entered the commercial data center arena—joining forces with CNS Engineering to develop what is promised as one of Pakistan’s most advanced, AI-ready facilities.

This strategic move marks a significant step in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure. The facility is being designed and built by CNS Engineering and features Schneider Electric’s high density data center technology, purpose built to support both CPU based systems and high performance GPU servers. With rack densities exceeding 20kW, it’s tailormade for compute intensive environments such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data driven enterprise applications.

What truly elevates this project is its alignment with the Uptime Institute’s Tier III standard, a globally recognized benchmark for data center design and reliability. Tier III certification ensures that the facility offers 99.982% uptime, achieved through N+1 redundancy, which means every critical system has at least one fully independent backup. This setup allows for concurrent maintenance without service disruption, making it ideal for businesses that require round-the-clock access to data and IT infrastructure.

The facility’s design includes dual power paths for every rack, robust uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems configured with N+1 architecture, and diesel backup generators capable of maintaining operations during extended outages. All critical IT equipment will be dual corded and connected to separate power sources, ensuring seamless failover. These fault tolerant electrical systems, along with automated transfer switches (ATS) and rigorous maintenance protocols, reflect best-in-class engineering and operational resilience.

“This development marks a new era for Pakistan’s digital and AI ecosystem,” said an official involved in the project. “With CNS Engineering and Schneider Electric on board, Transworld is laying the foundation for world-class infrastructure that will support the country’s growing demand for data processing, AI, and cloud solutions.”

In a statement shared on LinkedIn, CNS Engineering’s CEO remarked:

“We thank Transworld’s management, engineering, and procurement teams for trusting CNS Engineering, Schneider Electric, and Uptime Institute with this landmark project. The facility’s high density, AI ready capabilities and rapid scale up potential make it a gamechanger. Congratulations to all involved.”

With this partnership, Transworld and CNS-E are setting a new benchmark for commercial data centers in the region. With a certified operations team trained in operational sustainability, the data center is being fast tracked for deployment and will raise the bar for enterprise grade infrastructure in Pakistan. Transworld’s entry into this space not only expands its service offerings, it also signals a bold commitment to building the digital and AI backbone of the future.
