State Bank of Pakistan has invited applications for two major hiring programs—the Cyber Risk Officers Scheme (CROS) and the 28th batch of the State Bank Officers Training Scheme (SBOTS)—offering permanent positions at the level of Assistant Director (OG-2). These schemes are part of SBP’s ongoing efforts to build capacity across both regulatory and digital domains of Pakistan’s financial system. All positions are based in Karachi, and the deadline to apply is July 14, 2025.

The Cyber Risk Officers Scheme is focused on recruiting professionals for specialized roles in cyber risk supervision, digital frauds supervision, and incident management or response. Candidates must hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 16 years of education, scoring at least 60 percent marks or an equivalent GPA, from HEC-recognized local or international institutions. Relevant fields include Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, and related areas. Applicants with certifications or prior experience in cybersecurity domains will be preferred. The maximum age limit is 26 years as of June 29, 2025, with a three-year relaxation for female, transgender, minority, and regional candidates. The SBOTS 28th Batch is SBP’s flagship program to induct officers across departments such as monetary policy, research, financial markets, banking policy, Islamic finance, digital financial services, internal audit, and human resource management. Eligible qualifications include a broad spectrum of fields like Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Policy, Law, Data Sciences, Actuarial Sciences, Islamic Banking, Human Resource Management, and more. Candidates must meet the same academic and age eligibility criteria as CROS, with equivalence certificates required for foreign degrees. Details for SBOTS are available at https://www.sbp.org.pk/careers/2025/Jun/SBOTS.htm.

All candidates must apply through SBP’s official careers portal. Applications submitted by hand or email will not be accepted. The hiring process involves testing and interviews, ensuring transparency and merit-based selection. SBP encourages applications from women, minorities, transgender persons, and people with disabilities, reinforcing its position as an equal opportunity employer. These schemes are widely regarded as competitive entry points into Pakistan’s central banking and regulatory system.
