Zulfiqar Memon, Head of School Computing at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences and a Professional Corporate Lead Trainer, announced his upcoming Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short course through the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) on The Future Use Cases of Blockchain for Cybersecurity, scheduled for October 20, 2022.
In the session, Mr. Memon highlighted the significance of cryptocurrency and blockchain in modern finance. He discussed how blockchain technology addresses challenges in traditional banking systems, such as technical issues, account hacking, and transfer limits, by introducing a secure and efficient decentralized authority.
Key features of blockchain, including SHA-256 encryption, public and private keys, distributed public ledger, and proof of work, were elaborated upon. Mr. Memon emphasized the importance of these features in ensuring the security and transparency of transactions in blockchain networks.
The session concluded with a discussion on the various applications of blockchain technology, such as transparent voting systems, secure financial record-keeping, data tampering prevention, and defect detection in business supply chains. Mr. Memon expressed hope for a large audience to participate in the upcoming course.
