Wafi Energy Pakistan Shell Licensee has successfully gone live with RISE with SAP S 4HANA, marking a major milestone in its ongoing digital transformation program. The implementation represents a significant upgrade of the company’s enterprise resource planning landscape and reflects a collaborative effort aimed at modernizing core systems that support downstream Oil and Gas operations. The project focused on establishing a stable and future ready digital foundation while ensuring continuity of critical business functions during the transition to SAP’s modern digital core.
According to information shared by stakeholders involved in the program, the initiative centered on strengthening the existing ERP environment while addressing long standing process gaps across multiple operational areas. The transformation included stabilizing legacy systems that had supported business operations for years and restoring end to end process clarity to improve efficiency and transparency. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring that essential downstream capabilities such as fuel distribution, pricing mechanisms, inventory management, and regulatory compliance were fully prepared for the shift to SAP S 4HANA. This preparation was critical in maintaining uninterrupted operations while enabling the organization to adopt standardized and data driven workflows aligned with industry requirements.
With RISE with SAP S 4HANA now live, Wafi Energy Pakistan has gained improved visibility across its distribution network and operational processes. The new platform provides more consistent access to real time data, allowing teams to make informed decisions across supply chain activities and commercial operations. Strengthened regulatory alignment was also a key outcome of the project, supporting compliance requirements in a highly regulated sector. By moving to a scalable ERP platform, the organization has positioned itself to respond more effectively to evolving business needs while maintaining control over core processes that are central to downstream Oil and Gas operations in Pakistan.
The implementation was delivered in close collaboration with Systems Limited, whose teams worked alongside Wafi Energy’s leadership and operational staff throughout the program. Both sides emphasized the importance of trust, coordination, and shared objectives in delivering a complex ERP transformation within defined timelines. The project not only focused on technical deployment but also on ensuring that business users were supported throughout the change, helping them adapt to updated workflows and system capabilities. This collaborative approach played a key role in ensuring that the transition to SAP S 4HANA was executed smoothly without disruption to daily operations.
Commenting on the development, Zubair Shaikh, CEO of Wafi Energy Pakistan Shell Licensee, highlighted the strategic importance of digitalization in supporting the company’s growth plans. He stated that the organization’s ambitions require a digitally empowered foundation and that IT systems serve as the backbone of the business. Through its partnership with Systems Limited, Wafi Energy is strengthening this foundation to support future expansion and operational resilience. The successful go live of RISE with SAP S 4HANA reflects the company’s commitment to leveraging modern enterprise technology to enhance efficiency, governance, and long term sustainability within Pakistan’s energy sector.
