The 7th Edition of THE FUTURE SUMMIT (TFS) has concluded its second day, delivering a compelling array of discussions and dialogues under the theme “THE BIG PICTURE.” Hosted jointly by Nutshell Group and HBL, and powered by Unity Foods Limited, the summit, in strategic collaboration with the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) and CORPORATE PAKISTAN GROUP, featured noteworthy participation from key industry figures.

Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, virtually addressed the audience, emphasizing Pakistan’s economic potential. Quoting a World Bank report, she highlighted the possibility of the country’s economy reaching USD 2 trillion by 2047, stressing the need for robust economic policies and structural reforms to achieve sustainable growth.

The summit’s Sixth Session, themed ‘Imagineering the Future,’ showcased thought-provoking addresses by Douglas Corley, Founder, DHB Global & CEO, Alaunius Technologies; Bob Ferguson, Senior Communications Coach, Xecofy Limited, UK; and Paul Papadimitriou, Founder, Intelligencr, London. Discussions ranged from the role of government alignment in the field of medicine to the transformative power of communication in business success and embracing uncertainty for future resilience.

The Seventh Session, a Dialogue on ‘Reimagining Leadership, Productivity & the Workplace,’ featured panelists such as Dr. Rehan Al Taji, Abdul Haseeb, Nadir Salar Qureshi, Dr. Anum Jawed Akhai, Shabnam Mohammad, and Arshad Saeed Husain. Topics included the balance between sustainability and growth and exercising caution in the realm of generative AI and software.

Addressing the theme of ‘Creating Impact,’ H. E. Jane Marriott, High Commissioner of UK in Pakistan, discussed sustainability, climate change, and decarbonization. Martijn Aslander, Technology Philosopher, delved into the crucial role of digital fitness in the context of digital transformation.

The summit also featured discussions on ‘Financial Inclusion: From Access to Economic Empowerment,’ highlighting the critical need for women’s representation in the financial sector. The Ninth Session on ‘Emerging Issues’ explored topics such as the development of domestic commodities, CSR and performance potential, and the impact of AI on leadership and growing businesses.

Concluding with a panel discussion on ‘THE BIG PICTURE – Business & Investment Landscape,’ moderated by Ehsan Malik, CEO of Pakistan Business Council, the summit featured insights from industry titans Arif Habib, Dr. Zeelaf Munir, and Maheen Rahman. The event ended with keynote addresses from Dr. Moeed W. Yousaf, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat (Rtd).
