Synergy Computers has announced the successful completion of a major storage infrastructure project at State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), featuring technology from Hitachi Vantara. The project covered the supply, installation, integration, maintenance and technical support of storage systems, SAN switches and allied equipment, with the implementation marking an important milestone for the organization’s storage environment and its disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
A key highlight of the completed project is the deployment of Hitachi Global Active Device, also known as GAD, at SBP. According to the project announcement, the implementation marks the first deployment of its kind in Pakistan. Hitachi Global Active Device is designed to enable synchronous, active active replication between two storage systems, allowing data to remain consistently replicated across the storage environment. The technology is intended to support high availability while helping organizations maintain access to critical data during infrastructure failures.
The implementation of GAD at State Bank of Pakistan is expected to strengthen the resilience of its storage infrastructure by providing capabilities focused on data availability and continuity.
