Sindh Bank has signed an agreement with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) to enhance the bank’s digital connectivity and infrastructure through the deployment of Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solutions across 330 of its branches. This collaboration marks a key advancement in the bank’s digital operations, aiming to deliver faster, more secure, and cost-efficient network services throughout its branch network. SD-WAN offers businesses a more flexible and intelligent method of managing network traffic across multiple locations by using software-based control instead of relying solely on traditional hardware.

The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held at the Sindh Bank Head Office in Karachi. Syed Assad Ali Shah, Deputy CEO of Sindh Bank, and Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, signed the agreement in the presence of senior leadership including Muhammad Anwaar Sheikh, President and CEO of Sindh Bank. Other officials present included Basharat Qureshi, Group VP Enterprise; Sayyed Imran Bukhari, Group VP B2B Strategy; Umar Farooqi, Group Director Enterprise PTCL; Adnan Siddiqui, CIO Sindh Bank; Dilshad Hussain, CFO Sindh Bank; and Syed Zeeshan ul Haq, Head of Infrastructure at Sindh Bank, along with other senior representatives from both organizations.

PTCL will provide Sindh Bank with end-to-end managed services and infrastructure built on its latest technology platforms. This will include secure network management, optimized connectivity, and advanced monitoring capabilities, enabling the bank to streamline operations while improving customer service delivery. The integration of SD-WAN will also provide the bank with increased operational efficiency and scalability across its growing network.

During the ceremony, Asif Ahmad shared that PTCL is committed to supporting organizations across sectors in achieving their digital transformation objectives. As a national telecom operator, PTCL continues to play a central role in the country’s telecom and ICT development by offering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions tailored for enterprise needs. He noted that the partnership with Sindh Bank reinforces PTCL’s mission to strengthen digital infrastructure in Pakistan’s financial sector.

Muhammad Anwaar Sheikh stated that Sindh Bank is adopting modern and secure technologies as part of its broader strategy to create a digitally enabled banking experience for its customers. By partnering with PTCL, the bank aims to improve infrastructure capabilities, enhance data protection, and reduce product rollout times, thereby enabling a more agile and responsive banking model. The deployment of SD-WAN is expected to give Sindh Bank greater control over its network operations while supporting the development of a robust digital ecosystem for its clients and partners.

This agreement underscores the shared vision of both organizations to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance services. It also reflects the growing momentum in the financial sector to adopt integrated ICT and connectivity solutions as part of ongoing digital transformation efforts in Pakistan.
