A senior leadership delegation from Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan recently visited the Sky47 Islamabad Data Center, marking an important institutional engagement as the facility moves closer to full operational readiness.
The visit represented one of the earliest formal institutional interactions at the Sky47 Islamabad Data Center and reflected increasing interest from regulatory stakeholders in the development of locally governed, resilient digital infrastructure. The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Haseeb Sheikh, Executive Director and Chief Information Officer at SECP, accompanied by Mr. Aalishan Akhtar, Head of IT, Mr. Shoaib Shaikh, Additional Joint Director, Mr. Haroon Rashid, Joint Director, and Mr. Usman Ahmed, Additional Director. During the visit, the delegation was provided with a comprehensive overview of the facility’s technical capabilities, infrastructure planning, and operational frameworks that are being established to support enterprise and institutional requirements within Pakistan’s evolving digital ecosystem.
Throughout the engagement, Sky47 representatives walked the SECP delegation through the data center’s AI ready architecture, highlighting design considerations built to support high density workloads, scalability, and performance reliability. The delegation reviewed the facility’s security framework, which has been developed in alignment with international best practices while maintaining a strong focus on local governance and compliance. Operational design elements were also discussed in detail, including redundancy planning, availability standards, and resilience measures intended to support financial institutions, regulators, and other critical sectors that require uninterrupted digital services. The visit offered an opportunity for open dialogue on how infrastructure providers and regulatory bodies can align expectations around compliance, data sovereignty, and operational transparency.
The engagement comes at a time when Pakistan’s digital economy continues to expand, placing greater emphasis on secure, high availability data infrastructure hosted within national boundaries. Institutional stakeholders are increasingly prioritizing platforms that can support sensitive workloads while remaining compliant with regulatory and policy frameworks. The Sky47 Islamabad Data Center positions itself within this context by focusing on infrastructure that supports enterprise scale computing, cloud enablement, and AI driven workloads without compromising governance standards. The visit by SECP leadership underscores the relevance of such facilities as foundational components of Pakistan’s broader digital and financial systems.
By hosting SECP at its Islamabad facility, Sky47 reinforced its stated commitment to building trusted platforms that support national priorities and regulatory alignment. The interaction also reflected a broader institutional interest in understanding how modern data centers are being designed to meet future capacity demands while addressing security, availability, and compliance requirements. As Sky47 continues its progression toward operational readiness, engagements of this nature signal growing confidence among regulators and public sector stakeholders in the role of locally developed digital infrastructure in supporting Pakistan’s long term technology objectives.
