SECP Enhances Cyber Resilience Through New Security Operations Center Facility

Published:

Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar, has inaugurated the Security Operations Center (SOC) of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), marking an important step towards strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and protecting critical information assets. The inauguration ceremony was attended by SECP Commissioners Imtiaz Haider, Muzzafar Ahmed Mirza, and Zeeshan R. Khattak, along with other senior officials from both organisations.

The newly established SECP Security Operations Center has been designed to improve the organisation’s ability to monitor digital environments, identify potential security risks, and respond to incidents through a more coordinated cybersecurity framework. The facility will provide real time monitoring of SECP’s critical information assets while enabling proactive threat detection and faster response mechanisms to address potential security concerns. Through enhanced visibility and continuous monitoring capabilities, the SOC aims to support SECP’s efforts to maintain operational resilience in an increasingly digital environment. During the visit, SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu also briefed Chairman NADRA on the Commission’s ongoing information technology reforms, infrastructure modernisation initiatives, and the adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to improve service delivery. The discussion highlighted SECP’s focus on strengthening digital capabilities and using advanced technologies to facilitate ease of doing business for stakeholders. These initiatives form part of SECP’s broader efforts to improve efficiency, enhance digital services, and build stronger technology foundations for regulatory operations.

The establishment of the SOC has been supported by Karandaaz Pakistan, enabled by Inara Technologies, while managed security services have been provided by REWTERZ. The collaboration brings together expertise from different technology and cybersecurity stakeholders to enhance SECP’s security posture and operational capabilities. The involvement of these organisations reflects a collaborative approach towards developing stronger cybersecurity infrastructure and improving the ability to manage evolving digital risks. As regulatory institutions continue adopting digital platforms and technology driven services, cybersecurity has become a key priority for protecting sensitive information and ensuring reliable operations. The SECP Security Operations Center represents a structured approach towards strengthening monitoring, response, and risk management capabilities within the organisation. By integrating advanced security practices and technology solutions, SECP aims to create a more secure digital environment for its operations and stakeholders.

The partnership between SECP, NADRA, Karandaaz Pakistan, Inara Technologies, and REWTERZ demonstrates the growing importance of cybersecurity collaboration in Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. Through continued investment in security infrastructure, emerging technologies, and skilled resources, organisations can improve their ability to respond to cyber challenges while supporting secure digital transformation. The newly inaugurated SOC will serve as a key component in SECP’s efforts to enhance cybersecurity readiness and operational continuity.
