SAP S/4HANA EHSM Konnect Project With OGDC Enters Training And UAT Phase In Pakistan

Published:

The ExD SAP S/4HANA EHSM Konnect project developed in collaboration with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has officially entered the Training and User Acceptance Testing phase, marking a key stage in its progression toward full deployment. This phase represents a critical step where the system is being validated in real operational conditions before going live, with end users actively engaging in both training sessions and testing workflows designed to simulate real business environments. The development reflects a structured move toward integrating enterprise grade environmental, health, and safety management systems into large scale industrial operations.

This rollout is being described as the first time that EHSM is being implemented and tested on a nationwide scale, making it a significant milestone for both the project teams and the organization. The training and testing activities are currently being conducted at the Oil and Gas Training Institute in Islamabad, where participants are working directly with the system to understand its functionality and evaluate its performance. The focus during this phase is on ensuring that users become familiar with system operations while simultaneously identifying areas that require refinement before final deployment. This dual approach of training and validation allows for real time feedback, which is being used to fine tune system behavior and improve overall usability.

The EHSM solution within the SAP S/4HANA framework includes multiple integrated modules designed to support safety, environmental, and operational governance across industrial processes. These modules cover Occupational Health and Safety, Incident Management, Permit to Work, Management of Change, Risk Management, Waste Management, Environmental Management, and Analytics and Reporting. Each module is structured to address specific operational requirements, enabling organizations to manage compliance, track incidents, assess risks, and maintain environmental standards within a unified digital platform. The integration of these components into a single system is intended to streamline workflows and improve visibility across different functional areas.

During the current phase, end users are actively testing real life scenarios within the system, allowing them to simulate workplace conditions and evaluate how effectively the platform responds to operational requirements. This hands on engagement is helping teams identify gaps, adjust configurations, and optimize processes to ensure smoother performance during full scale rollout. The involvement of users in testing also ensures that the system aligns closely with actual operational needs, particularly in environments where safety and compliance are critical. As the project moves closer to deployment, continued refinement and user feedback are playing an important role in shaping final adjustments to the system before it becomes fully operational across the organization.
