Global enterprise software company SAP has appointed Saqib Sabah as the new Head of its MEA North Growth Cluster, placing him in charge of the company’s strategic growth agenda across Pakistan, Kuwait and Bahrain. Based in SAP’s Islamabad office, Sabah will report directly to the regional leadership team and oversee business expansion efforts in markets that the company considers increasingly important to enterprise technology adoption and digital transformation. The appointment also signals SAP’s growing emphasis on Pakistan as a regional technology market, with Islamabad selected as the operational base for leadership of the cluster.
According to SAP, the MEA North Growth Cluster operates at the intersection of South Asia and the Middle East, regions that continue to experience rapid enterprise technology adoption and increased investment in digital systems. By anchoring the cluster leadership in Islamabad, SAP aims to strengthen its regional presence while advancing enterprise transformation initiatives from within the market. The company described Pakistan as a priority geography within its broader regional strategy, reflecting confidence in the country’s growing role in digital business transformation and enterprise software adoption. SAP’s decision to place regional leadership in Islamabad also aligns with increasing demand for cloud technologies, automation tools, artificial intelligence driven systems and enterprise software platforms across public and private sector organisations.
Sabah brings more than three decades of experience in the global technology sector, having worked across enterprise software, digital transformation, AI innovation and regional business growth in markets spanning Asia, Europe and other international regions. Over the course of his career, he has led multinational teams, managed complex business environments and supported growth initiatives in both emerging and established markets. SAP highlighted his experience in turning underperforming regions into commercially successful operations and building high performance teams capable of delivering business transformation across demanding technology landscapes. Ahmed Al Faifi, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of MEA North at SAP, welcomed Sabah’s appointment and said his regional expertise, leadership background and understanding of growth markets make him well positioned to lead the company’s regional agenda. According to Al Faifi, SAP expects to accelerate its expansion efforts under Sabah’s leadership as enterprise customers continue prioritising digital modernisation.
Commenting on his appointment, Sabah said he was enthusiastic about leading the MEA North Growth Cluster at a time when digital transformation efforts are expanding across the region. He said collaboration with customers, technology partners and internal teams would remain important in driving innovation, growth and measurable business outcomes. Outside his executive role, Sabah is also recognised for his advocacy of financial inclusion and is currently pursuing a doctorate focused on studying the impact of artificial intelligence on retail investing. His work in technology leadership has earned professional recognition in Malaysia and Singapore, while a feature documenting his achievements is expected to be published by Britishpedia in the fourth quarter of 2026. SAP’s latest leadership announcement comes as technology companies continue strengthening regional operations to meet rising enterprise demand for cloud services, automation and AI enabled business systems.
