PTCL Group Collaborates With Vodafone And Smart MEP To Advance Industrial IoT In Pakistan

PTCL Group, comprising PTCL and Ufone 4G, has partnered with Vodafone and Smart MEP to accelerate Pakistan’s Industrial IoT ecosystem through the deployment of Vodafone’s next-generation IoT Core Platform. The announcement was made during GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, highlighting PTCL Group’s focus on digital transformation and advanced connectivity solutions. The partnership aims to empower enterprises across Pakistan to adopt secure, scalable, and efficient IoT-enabled technologies that can enhance productivity and sustainability in key industrial sectors.

IoT Core, the next-generation IoT Application Enablement Platform from Vodafone, combines global expertise in managing millions of IoT connections with PTCL’s robust local digital infrastructure and enterprise reach. Through this integration, Pakistani enterprises will be able to deploy innovative solutions for automation, monitoring, and data-driven decision-making. Smart MEP, a leading engineering and system integration company, will play a crucial role in developing and commercialising LoRaWAN-based Industrial IoT solutions powered by PTCL IoT Core. These will focus on critical areas such as Energy Management, Smart Utilities, Water Metering, and Smart Manufacturing, helping industries achieve greater operational efficiency and reduced resource consumption.

The partnership was formalised through a signing ceremony at GITEX Global 2025, where Asif Ahmad, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer at PTCL and Ufone 4G, and Nadeem Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Smart MEP, signed the agreement. The event was also attended by Syed Atif Raza, Group Chief Commercial Officer at PTCL and Ufone 4G, alongside senior management representatives from all parties. The collaboration represents a major step in PTCL Group’s mission to enable Industrial IoT and drive Pakistan’s digital transformation by integrating world-class technologies with local innovation capabilities.

Asif Ahmad stated that PTCL Group remains committed to enabling digital innovation and automation across business operations through IoT solutions that promote data-driven efficiency. He added that the partnership with Smart MEP brings the company closer to its goal of being Pakistan’s leading digital transformation enabler for Industrial IoT, with Vodafone’s proven global IoT experience strengthening the platform’s capabilities. Nadeem Malik echoed these sentiments, noting that Smart MEP and PTCL Group share the goal of expanding the adoption of advanced IoT solutions across sectors to support business growth and sustainability. He highlighted that the introduction of Vodafone’s secure and globally recognised IoT Core through PTCL’s enterprise network will provide local businesses with the technological tools needed to unlock their potential.
