Pakistan Single Window (PSW) recently held a detailed change management session focused on the Electronic Certificate of Origin (ECO) Module for non-preferential trade. The event took place at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, bringing together key stakeholders from across the trade ecosystem. In addition to the in-person gathering in Lahore, chambers of commerce from various regions across Pakistan joined the session virtually, ensuring wide participation and engagement from the trade community.
The purpose of the session was to enhance the understanding and operational familiarity of chamber representatives with the ECO Module offered through the PSW platform. Designed to streamline and digitize the process of certificate issuance for non-preferential exports, the module is part of PSW’s ongoing commitment to promote paperless trade and improve export documentation procedures. This capacity-building effort aligns with broader initiatives aimed at facilitating smoother cross-border trade and reducing administrative bottlenecks for exporters.
Conducted by Muhammad Ahmad, Domain Officer at PSW, the session offered participants a comprehensive walkthrough of the system, including guidance on submission workflows, user interface features, and key functionalities. The session covered practical aspects of using the ECO module, demonstrating how chambers can efficiently manage certificate applications and approvals through the platform. The system demonstration was tailored to address real-world user scenarios, helping attendees grasp how the tool fits into existing export workflows.
Following the detailed presentation, the session transitioned into an interactive Q&A segment, during which participants raised important questions related to implementation, process alignment, and operational challenges. PSW responded with actionable guidance, reaffirming its commitment to providing continuous support and ensuring that stakeholders are well-equipped to transition to digital processes.
The engagement emphasized the importance of collaboration between PSW and trade bodies to ensure effective adoption of digital solutions. By providing chambers of commerce with hands-on experience and technical insights into PSW modules, the initiative plays a vital role in building digital capabilities across the trade ecosystem. Attendees acknowledged the relevance of such sessions in fostering transparency, improving documentation accuracy, and reducing processing times.
Sessions like these demonstrate PSW’s role in driving digital transformation in Pakistan’s trade sector. By working directly with industry representatives and chambers of commerce, PSW supports a more efficient and technology-driven export environment. The focus on non-preferential ECO certificates is particularly significant for exporters dealing in goods that fall outside preferential trade agreements, ensuring they benefit from streamlined procedures just as much as those operating under preferential terms.
Noman Ahmad and Faisal Hussain from PSW were also present to facilitate the session and extend their support to attendees. Their participation further strengthened the collaborative approach to capacity development within the trade community. Through continued outreach and training initiatives, PSW reinforces its dedication to making trade processes more accessible, transparent, and digitally enabled.
