Pakistan Single Window (PSW), in collaboration with Engineering Development Board (EDB), organized an informative Change Management session aimed at familiarizing key stakeholders with the newly developed EDB Module. The session focused on supporting industry players in understanding the digital workflows and compliance mechanisms now available through PSW’s platform. Leading the session were Zainab Nayyar, Staff Business Analyst, and Momal Mushtaque, Assistant Manager – Change Management, both from PSW. Their presentation emphasized the importance of technological integration in simplifying traditionally complex trade and regulatory processes.
The session attracted participation from critical sectors, particularly representatives from the automotive manufacturing ecosystem, including members of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM). Also in attendance was Khuda Buksh, CEO of EDB, whose presence reflected the importance EDB places on fostering digital transformation across the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Participants were given a comprehensive walkthrough of the EDB Module, covering the digitized processes aligned with SRO 656(1)/2006. The module is designed to streamline submission procedures and compliance documentation for importers and manufacturers operating under this statutory regulatory order. Key functions of the module include managing quota allocations, submitting amendments, and reducing the manual burden traditionally associated with regulatory oversight.
During the session, PSW’s team elaborated on how the EDB Module addresses current bottlenecks in trade compliance, offering automated workflows that enable greater transparency, efficiency, and traceability. Industry stakeholders showed strong interest in how the system can be used to better manage their import quotas and reduce turnaround times for approvals and adjustments. The digital framework introduced by PSW also allows for more consistent data validation and reporting, helping both businesses and regulators maintain alignment.
The interactive nature of the session encouraged open discussion, with participants raising pertinent questions around operational timelines, system access protocols, and data integration. PSW’s team responded with detailed explanations, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to continuous improvement and responsive development based on user feedback. The initiative reflects a broader push towards end-to-end digitalization of government and trade-related services, offering a centralized platform for key regulatory interactions.
PSW continues to collaborate with government bodies like EDB to introduce modules tailored to the specific needs of various sectors. Through such joint efforts, the organization aims to create a seamless and paperless trade environment in Pakistan. This session served as a strategic step in building awareness, capacity, and confidence among automotive manufacturers navigating a changing regulatory landscape.
