PRAL’s GM Operations and CISO, accompanied by their teams, visited Lahore to meet with FBR leadership and field formations, reinforcing ongoing collaboration between the organizations. Key participants included Chief Collector Appraisement MCC, Chief Commissioners of LTO and RTO, DG IRSA, Commissioners from CTO and AEOI Zone, Additional Collector NLC Dryport, and PRAL’s local teams from N&I, Customs Operations, and IR Operations. The discussions emphasized digitization as a central tool to improve operational efficiency, increase transparency, and mitigate risks related to tax administration.
During interactive sessions with IR and Customs officers, the PRAL teams received detailed insights into day-to-day operational challenges, as well as cybersecurity concerns affecting workflow and system integrity. Field feedback highlighted areas where enhanced network resilience, improved system availability, and stronger security controls could directly support FBR operations. Participants discussed practical approaches to align technology with operational needs, ensuring that improvements in digital infrastructure address both efficiency and security requirements.
The Lahore visit allowed PRAL teams to gain firsthand understanding of the operational environment, translating field observations into actionable strategies. By engaging directly with collectors, commissioners, and officers, PRAL was able to identify gaps in system performance, potential vulnerabilities, and opportunities for process optimization. Strengthening communication channels between central IT teams and field formations was identified as a key factor in building more secure, reliable, and responsive digital systems capable of supporting FBR’s objectives.
This collaboration reinforces PRAL’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s tax administration through digital modernization. By combining field-level insights with technical expertise, PRAL and FBR aim to improve overall system effectiveness while reducing risks related to fraud and operational inefficiencies. Enhanced cybersecurity measures, coupled with improved system availability, are expected to increase confidence among FBR officers and stakeholders. The visit also sets the stage for further initiatives that integrate technology into day-to-day operations, fostering a more secure and resilient digital environment across Pakistan’s tax administration landscape.
