Pakistan’s NITB To Highlight Government Digital Platforms And Innovation At GITEX 2025

Published:

For the first time, the National Information Technology Board (NITB), operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), is representing Pakistan at GITEX 2025, one of the world’s largest and most influential technology exhibitions. The participation marks a significant step in promoting Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda on the global stage, as the organization highlights the government’s technological advancements and ongoing efforts toward paperless, efficient, and citizen-centric governance.

At the event, NITB will present its flagship digital platforms that are reshaping the federal government’s workflow and service delivery. Among these, the e-Office system stands out as a key achievement, a secure, paperless digital governance solution adopted across federal ministries and departments to enhance transparency, speed, and accountability. In addition, NITB will also demonstrate other core digital initiatives, including the Cabinet Portal, PakApp, and several Government-to-Government (G2G) and Government-to-Citizen (G2C) service platforms that streamline administrative processes and improve citizen access to public services. Another notable project featured in the showcase is the “One Patient, One ID” health initiative, which aims to integrate healthcare data into a unified national system for improved patient care and management.

GITEX, held annually in Dubai, is a premier international technology event attracting over 200,000 visitors and more than 6,500 exhibitors from over 180 countries. Pakistan’s inclusion this year reinforces its growing relevance in the global digital ecosystem. The country’s IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) industry already exports to around 170 countries, leveraging cost advantages that can reach up to 70 percent compared to operational costs in North America. With NITB’s participation, Pakistan’s government aims to project its expanding digital capabilities and invite international collaboration in areas such as governance technology, healthcare innovation, and enterprise digitization.

Beyond the exhibition, GITEX serves as a marketplace where investors, corporations, and startups converge to explore partnerships and emerging technologies. Pakistan’s presence through NITB at GITEX 2025 is expected to open new avenues for investment, joint ventures, and research collaborations. The event’s “Expand North Star” segment, which hosts thousands of startups and global investors, provides a unique opportunity for Pakistani innovators and government-backed technology programs to attract foreign interest and funding. By participating in GITEX, NITB aims not only to showcase Pakistan’s digital transformation but also to strengthen its position as an emerging digital hub in the region.
