Pakistani IT Firms Target Expansion in DCO Member States

Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Dr. Umar Saif, revealed on Tuesday that Pakistani IT companies are eager to broaden their horizons within the member states of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). The announcement was made during a virtual meeting with DCO Secretary General Deemah AlYahya.

The focal point of the meeting was to foster expansion and facilitate ease of doing business for Pakistani IT firms within DCO member countries. Dr. Saif emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s strong relations with DCO member nations.

In addition, Dr. Saif shared that Pakistan is gearing up to host the inaugural DCO event, titled “Digital Foreign Direct Investment,” scheduled for the upcoming year. The minister outlined the advantages of a digital passport for Pakistani IT companies, emphasizing its role in facilitating operations and growth within DCO member countries.

During the meeting, the DCO Secretary General pledged support for Pakistan in garnering investments for the “Pakistan Startup Fund.” This collaborative effort aims to boost the growth of the IT sector in Pakistan.

The Digital Cooperation Organization includes member countries such as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Oman. The initiative highlights a concerted effort to strengthen collaboration and drive digital innovation across participating nations
