Pakistan’s participation at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) in Dubai has been hailed as a tremendous success, highlighted by numerous agreements and enhanced global recognition for the country’s burgeoning IT sector.

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, along with various Pakistani exhibitors, commended GITEX as a pivotal platform for showcasing the potential of Pakistan’s technology landscape. The five-day event, which concluded on October 18, attracted over 6,000 companies from around the globe, providing invaluable exposure for local firms.

A significant highlight of Pakistan’s participation was the country’s designation as the “Tech Destination of the Year.” Additionally, a special “Pakistan Evening” was organized as part of the official program, further elevating the nation’s profile within the international tech community.

Several Pakistani firms capitalized on the opportunities available at GITEX, successfully signing substantial agreements and securing new business contracts. The precise number of deals is expected to be confirmed upon the event’s conclusion.

Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), described GITEX as a “game-changer” for Pakistani IT startups. With 80 companies representing Pakistan, the event served as a vital stage for showcasing local talent and fostering international partnerships.

The slogan “Tech Destination Pakistan” resonated deeply with attendees, leading to multimillion-dollar contracts for several firms. TallyMarks Consulting, a leading technology solutions provider, secured a significant partnership with Obrela, a global cybersecurity leader. This collaboration will allow TallyMarks to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity services in Pakistan through its subsidiary, Integrians Cybersecurity Solutions (ICS).

Another success story emerged from Premier Cables, which received a new order from Etisalat for fiber-optic cables, building on a longstanding relationship established at previous GITEX editions.

Overall, Pakistan’s participation at GITEX 2024 stands as a testament to the country’s growing capabilities in the IT sector, attracting significant investment and fostering valuable partnerships. The event has solidified Pakistan’s position as a promising destination for technological innovation and business opportunities in the region.
