Pakistan Minerals Development Corporation has officially gone live on Oracle NetSuite ERP Cloud as part of a large scale enterprise digital transformation initiative delivered by Keystone. The implementation brings PMDC’s mining operations, administrative offices, and financial systems onto a single integrated cloud platform, enabling real time visibility across core business functions. The deployment is designed to unify operational data from multiple sites into a centralized system that supports improved reporting, coordination, and decision making across the organization.
PMDC operates as the largest mining company in Pakistan with an extensive operational footprint that includes five salt mines and four collieries, among them the Khewra Salt Mine, recognized as one of the world’s largest salt mines. The organization functions in a high activity environment where coordination between mine sites, area offices, and head office is essential for maintaining efficiency. With the introduction of Oracle NetSuite ERP Cloud, PMDC has streamlined processes across mine output tracking, supply chain workflows, procurement cycles, inventory handling, and financial management. All core operational activities are now reflected in financial records in real time, enabling leadership teams to access consistent and updated information across the entire value chain.
The deployment includes multiple modules across the NetSuite platform tailored to PMDC operational requirements. These include work orders, inventory management, order entry, procurement, asset management, production tracking, order to cash, and procure to pay cycles. Each of these components has been integrated into a common cloud based environment, ensuring that data flows seamlessly between operational units and financial systems. Users within PMDC have reported strong adoption of NetSuite dashboards and reporting tools, which are supported by embedded business intelligence capabilities. The flexibility of these dashboards allows teams to analyze production performance, financial summaries, and operational efficiency metrics without relying on disconnected reporting systems. This structured approach has improved transparency and strengthened data driven decision making across departments.
A key element of the project involved addressing operational challenges related to geography and workforce distribution. PMDC management acknowledged that many users operate from remote mining locations where connectivity and system access can present challenges. To support a smooth transition, significant investment was made in connectivity infrastructure as well as user training programs across all levels of the organization. These efforts contributed to a coordinated cut over process and ensured that users across mines and offices were able to transition effectively onto the new ERP system. The collaboration between PMDC ERP teams, key business users, and end users played a central role in achieving successful deployment outcomes and operational continuity during the transition phase.
Keystone, an IT services provider specializing in Oracle Cloud applications, led the implementation as part of its broader portfolio of SaaS and AI driven digital transformation projects. With clients across more than ten countries, Keystone focuses on delivering enterprise solutions for both large scale and midsize organizations. In the case of PMDC, the integration of Oracle NetSuite ERP Cloud represents a consolidation of multiple business functions into a single system designed to improve operational alignment and financial accuracy. The project reflects a structured modernization effort aimed at strengthening enterprise systems within Pakistan’s mining sector while supporting long term efficiency and data consistency across PMDC operations.
