Pakistan Minerals Development Corporation PMDC has officially gone live on Oracle NetSuite ERP Cloud as part of a major enterprise transformation initiative delivered by Keystone, marking a significant shift in how one of Pakistan’s largest mining organizations manages its nationwide operations. The implementation spans across PMDC mines, area offices and head office, bringing together operational, financial and supply chain processes into a unified digital environment that enables real time visibility and centralized control of business activities across the value chain.
PMDC, recognized as the largest mining company in Pakistan, operates an extensive network that includes five salt mines and four collieries, among them the globally recognized Khewra Salt Mine, considered the second largest salt mine in the world. With operations distributed across remote and geographically challenging locations, the organization required a system capable of integrating production, procurement, inventory, order management and financial reporting into a single platform. Through Oracle NetSuite ERP Cloud, PMDC has now digitized core workflows including work orders, inventory management, order entry, procurement processes and asset tracking, ensuring that all operational inputs are reflected directly into financial systems in real time. This integration has enabled improved coordination between mining sites and administrative offices while strengthening data consistency across departments.
The deployment has also introduced advanced reporting and embedded business intelligence capabilities that provide PMDC management with flexible dashboards and analytical insights. These tools have enhanced decision making by offering real time financial and operational data across production cycles, procurement activities and sales processes. Users across the organization have highlighted the flexibility of reporting structures and the ability to customize dashboards to meet specific operational requirements. The system supports both Procurement to Pay and Order to Cash cycles, ensuring that transactions across the organization are tracked and reconciled efficiently within a single digital ecosystem. In addition, the platform has improved visibility into production performance and supply chain movement, allowing leadership teams to respond more effectively to operational demands in a fast paced mining environment.
A key element of the transformation was ensuring system accessibility for users located in remote mining areas, which required significant investment in connectivity infrastructure and structured user training programs. PMDC management prioritized capacity building to ensure smooth adoption of the new platform across all operational levels. This focus on training and connectivity has resulted in a seamless transition to the cloud based ERP system, enabling consistent usage across mines and offices. Keystone, an IT services organization specializing in Oracle Cloud applications, led the implementation effort. With customers across more than ten countries, Keystone continues to support organizations in SaaS and AI driven digital transformation initiatives for both large scale and mid sized enterprises, positioning itself as a partner for organizations seeking modern enterprise solutions in complex operational environments.
