Pakistan’s “Power with Security” initiative takes a major step forward with the official launch of the Power Sector CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team). This specialized team brings together leading cybersecurity experts like Shoab Khan, Arshad Javed Minhas, Usman Qureshi, and others  to focus on safeguarding the nation’s critical power infrastructure.

The Power Sector CERT signifies a proactive approach to cybersecurity in the energy sector. This initiative complements the previously established NEPRA CERT and aims to encourage all power companies in Pakistan to form their own internal CERTs.

This collaborative effort underscores the growing recognition of cybersecurity threats in the power sector. The Power Sector CERT, comprised of these industry veterans, will play a crucial role in defending Pakistan’s power grid from cyberattacks.
