OpenAI has expanded its Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, bringing its frontier cyber models to leading cybersecurity companies and service providers to help organizations strengthen their cyber defenses. Through the initiative, OpenAI is making its advanced cyber focused AI models available to trusted partners that already provide security products, managed services, and consulting engagements for enterprises worldwide. The program is designed to help organizations identify serious vulnerabilities, validate real security risks, accelerate remediation efforts, and improve resilience against cyber threats that continue to evolve in speed and sophistication. OpenAI stated that as artificial intelligence reshapes cybersecurity, defenders require more advanced tools to keep pace with increasingly capable attackers while addressing the growing number of vulnerabilities affecting modern software and infrastructure.
According to OpenAI, security teams face a growing challenge that extends beyond discovering vulnerabilities. Organizations must also determine which weaknesses pose genuine risks, understand whether they can be exploited, identify affected systems, and deploy fixes before attackers take advantage of them. Through the Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, OpenAI’s frontier cyber models are integrated directly into the services delivered by trusted cybersecurity providers that already understand their customers’ infrastructure and security operations. Depending on customer requirements, the partners can support vulnerability discovery and validation, penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, remediation activities, and security assessments across complex enterprise environments. OpenAI noted that this approach enables organizations to strengthen existing security operations without the need to build or maintain dedicated cyber AI programs internally.
The Daybreak Cyber Partner Program includes a number of established cybersecurity and consulting organizations including Accenture, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, Cisco, Sophos, EY, PwC, Cloudflare, Fortinet, and Akamai. OpenAI explained that approved partners can access Daybreak Blue or Daybreak Red models through Daybreak Access based on the type of engagement being performed. Daybreak Blue supports a wide range of defensive cybersecurity workflows, while Daybreak Red is intended for more specialized and closely governed activities such as penetration testing and red teaming. The company emphasized that access to these models remains under the control of approved partners rather than being transferred directly to customers. Security engagements are supported by safeguards including identity verification, defined testing scopes, activity logging, monitoring, and human oversight to ensure responsible use of the technology.
OpenAI said the expansion of the Daybreak Cyber Partner Program reflects its objective of helping more organizations adopt advanced AI capabilities through experienced cybersecurity providers that can apply the technology within real world security operations.
