OICCI AI Session Explores Enterprise Adoption Strategy And Business Impact

Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a knowledge sharing session titled “AI at Scale: From Strategy to Business Impact” on September 22, 2026, bringing together business and technology leaders to discuss how organizations can move artificial intelligence beyond experimental projects and integrate it into operational environments. The session focused on practical approaches for scaling AI adoption, creating measurable business value and developing strategies that support responsible technology implementation. Industry leaders shared insights into how organizations can prepare their workforce, strengthen data capabilities and establish frameworks that allow AI solutions to deliver meaningful outcomes across different business functions.

During the session, Raza Abbas, Chief Information Officer at Unilever Pakistan, shared the company’s approach toward expanding AI adoption across its operations. He highlighted that successful AI implementation requires alignment between people, platforms, responsible AI practices, data readiness and reusable technology capabilities. According to Abbas, Unilever Pakistan is focusing on integrating AI into different areas of the business, including AI enabled marketing and content creation, intelligent go to market decision making, analytics agents, digital factories and Microsoft Copilot applications. He emphasized that leadership support, business ownership, disciplined investment and measurable results are important factors in ensuring that AI initiatives move from planning stages into practical business applications.

The session also featured insights from Zaid Umer Farooqui, General Manager IT at Indus Motor Company, who discussed the company’s three year AI journey and the steps taken to introduce AI across different organizational functions. According to the discussion, Indus Motor focused on building awareness throughout the organization, providing function specific training, developing AI Champions and selecting suitable tools based on business requirements. The company shared examples of AI applications including recruitment automation, invoice verification, transportation assistance and computer vision solutions used in manufacturing and vehicle inspection processes. These examples highlighted how organizations can gradually introduce automation by identifying specific challenges and developing solutions that support operational improvements.

An interactive question and answer session followed the presentations, where representatives from member companies discussed important considerations related to AI governance, data privacy, cybersecurity, human oversight, AI model changes, cost management and workforce transformation. Speakers encouraged organizations to begin AI adoption by identifying clear business problems, demonstrating value through focused initiatives and developing the necessary skills and trust before expanding successful solutions across wider operations. The discussion reflected the growing focus among enterprises on adopting AI responsibly while ensuring that technology investments remain aligned with business objectives.

The session was welcomed by OICCI representatives, including Executive Director M Abdul Aleem, Executive Director Kashif Shafi and Assistant Manager IT and Administration Syed Waqar Arif. During his welcome remarks, M Abdul Aleem highlighted the increasing importance of integrating AI into organizational processes to create business value. Through initiatives such as “AI at Scale: From Strategy to Business Impact,” OICCI continues to provide a platform for technology and business leaders to exchange knowledge, explore emerging trends and discuss approaches for implementing digital transformation strategies across Pakistan’s corporate sector.
