The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH) and Huawei are set to co-host an international workshop on “Cybersecurity Landscape in OIC Countries: Issues and Prospects” from December 16-18, 2024, in Islamabad. The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation.
In today’s digitally driven world, cybersecurity has become an essential pillar for national stability and security, especially as countries increasingly rely on digital infrastructure. OIC member states face distinct challenges in safeguarding their critical data, networks, and systems from growing cyber threats. This workshop aims to tackle these challenges head-on, offering a collaborative platform for experts, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the OIC to engage in meaningful dialogue.
Organized by COMSTECH, the event will explore key issues such as the current cybersecurity landscape in OIC member states, the evolving cyber threat environment, and defense mechanisms. Attendees will also discuss policies, regulations, and strategies to build robust cybersecurity frameworks that can adapt to the fast-changing threat landscape.
Through a series of expert-led discussions, participants will gain insights into specialized areas like data privacy, infrastructure protection, and cybersecurity’s role in government, academia, and industry.
