Octopus Digital has entered into a five-year digital technology partnership with English Biscuit Manufacturers (EBM) to support the company’s smart manufacturing transformation through advanced production monitoring and operational visibility solutions. Under the agreement, Octopus Digital will deploy its OmniOEE platform across EBM’s manufacturing plants and 22 production lines, enabling real-time monitoring of machine performance and production activities. The collaboration aims to connect manufacturing equipment with cloud based systems, allowing teams to access production insights, identify operational losses and improve efficiency through data driven decision making.
Through the deployment of OmniOEE, EBM’s production operations will gain enhanced visibility into key manufacturing performance indicators, including equipment effectiveness, production stoppages, changeover periods and lost production time. The platform is designed to capture operational data from machines in real time and provide insights into the reasons behind production interruptions. By transforming machine data into actionable information, the solution will help teams better understand performance challenges, identify improvement opportunities and optimise manufacturing processes. The partnership reflects the growing adoption of digital technologies within Pakistan’s industrial sector as manufacturers increasingly use automation, cloud platforms and analytics tools to improve productivity and operational control.
As part of the long-term collaboration, Octopus Digital plans to expand digital visibility across EBM’s packaging operations, covering processes from raw material handling to finished goods. The partnership will also include the introduction of energy monitoring and optimisation capabilities built on the same digital foundation. By extending data visibility across multiple stages of production, the initiative will provide a broader view of manufacturing performance and support more informed operational decisions. The integration of production monitoring and energy management tools is expected to help create a more connected manufacturing environment where businesses can track performance, reduce inefficiencies and improve resource utilisation.
Octopus Digital stated that the five-year partnership provides an opportunity to move beyond initial technology implementation and establish a long-term digital transformation journey with EBM. The company expressed appreciation for EBM’s trust and highlighted its focus on building solutions that support smarter manufacturing environments. Through the collaboration, both organisations aim to strengthen digital capabilities across manufacturing operations by combining industrial technology, cloud connectivity and real-time analytics. The partnership demonstrates how technology providers and manufacturing companies are increasingly working together to implement Industry 4.0 solutions that enhance operational visibility, improve efficiency and create more data driven production ecosystems.
