National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board (NTISB) has concluded IT security audits of 12 Ministries and Divisions during the FY2021-22.

According to a document from the Cabinet Division, NTISB has issued 75 cyber security advisories to federal and provincial ministries and divisions.

The document further states that all Government institutions and Ministries are utilizing independent communication and IT Infrastructure to assess the strength of these networks in terms of IT security. As a result of these security audits, vulnerabilities in IT networks along with recommendations have been shared with the concerned Government Ministries.

Additionally, NTISB conducted inspections of 133 inland Communications Security Centers (CSC) in the financial year 2021-22 through inspection teams comprising personnel from NTISB, Department of Communication Security (DCS), Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, and Pakistan Navy.

Furthermore, the Department of Communication Security organized nine courses on Crypto Training during the financial year 2021-22 to enhance the cryptographic knowledge and handling of crypto materials for officers and operators from public and defense sectors. A total of 71 officers and 79 operators have been trained in these courses.

To facilitate private vendors for investment in Cipher Technology, NTISB evaluates IT security equipment. In the financial year 2021-22, NTISB conducted evaluations of 08 devices.

NTISB also organized seminars on Cyber Security and the Evolution of Quantum Computing. Additionally, cyber security awareness training was provided for the Airport Security Force at ASF Academy, Karachi, enabling its officials to meet organizational requirements.
