NTISB Cautions Job Seekers About Malicious Indian Website Collecting Data

Published:

The National Telecommunication and Information Security Board (NTISB) has issued a cautionary advisory regarding a malicious Indian domain allegedly used for gathering personal information of Pakistani individuals. The advisory highlights the identification of a deceptive Indian domain, applyforme.pk, which masquerades as a legitimate platform advertising job vacancies within the Ministry of Defence.

Upon analysis, it has been determined that the domain operates with the intent to deceive potential Ministry of Defence job applicants, aiming to extract personally identifiable information. Such data could potentially be exploited for nefarious purposes, including cyber espionage campaigns. NTISB has strongly advised users to exercise caution and refrain from interacting with such domains.

Furthermore, the advisory underscores the official website designated for Ministry of Defence job applications as mod.gov.pk. NTISB emphasizes the importance of users refraining from disclosing any personal or financial details on unfamiliar websites to mitigate potential risks.

NTISB has also issued additional recommendations to enhance user vigilance, including the verification of website links by scrutinizing the domain name, checking for secure website connections (https), and paying close attention to website URLs for any anomalies. Users are encouraged to directly verify the legitimacy of websites by contacting the relevant organization if there are any doubts regarding authenticity. These proactive measures aim to empower users to safeguard their personal information and mitigate the risks associated with online threats.
