The National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has underscored the importance of homegrown technologies in bolstering the country’s cybersecurity defenses. Dr. Haider Abbas, nCERT Director General, emphasized this point during a keynote address at a workshop on cryptographic and IT security devices, organized by the Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) and the National Telecom & Information Security Board (NTISB).
The workshop aimed to strengthen national security standards. Dr. Abbas highlighted NCERT’s dedication to developing indigenous solutions to safeguard Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.
Muhammad Umair Tariq, Director of NCERT’s Technology Development Center, provided insights into the latest technological advancements and announced a significant milestone: the establishment of Pakistan’s first Common Criteria evaluation facility for IT security products in Islamabad. This facility will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and security of IT products in the country.
