MOD Cyber Resilience Day 2025, held at the Ramada Hotel in Islamabad on 23 July 2025, gathered industry leaders, cybersecurity experts, and ICT innovators for a full-day event focused on strengthening digital defense capabilities in the face of evolving cyber threats. Organized by Huawei in collaboration with Communicators Globe Pvt Ltd, the event underscored the growing importance of resilience as a frontline defense strategy in an increasingly complex cyber risk environment.
Participants explored approaches that go beyond traditional prevention tactics, with a strong emphasis on recovery, operational continuity, and proactive threat readiness. Discussions addressed how organizations can adapt to ever-changing attack vectors while maintaining secure and efficient operations.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of Huawei’s Anti-Ransomware Solution, designed to enhance data resilience and ensure that organizations can recover from attacks without critical losses. The solution focuses on safeguarding sensitive information, maintaining uninterrupted access to vital resources, and preventing operational downtime caused by ransomware incidents.
Another notable technology featured was Xinghe Intelligent Cyberdefense, an integrated platform that combines intelligent protection mechanisms with real-time threat analysis to detect, respond to, and mitigate cyberattacks across diverse ICT infrastructures. This solution supports comprehensive security management, enabling organizations to monitor threats across networks, devices, and applications.
Speakers at the event also engaged in in-depth discussions about business continuity, threat intelligence, and the development of secure digital ecosystems. This was followed by a partner keynote from Mr. Sharjil Alam, CEO of Communicators Globe, highlighting the importance of collaboration between global technology providers and local industry leaders in enhancing national cyber resilience.
Technical presentations included an address from Mr. Babar Haq, CTO Storage for the MECA Region, who detailed Huawei’s cyber resilience strategies and how they address current and emerging threats. Mr. Saad Ashfaq, CTO Security Solutions for the MECA Region, presented insights into intelligent cyberdefense frameworks and the role of automation in strengthening security postures. The event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Afzal Niazi, Channel Director MOD, who reiterated the commitment to building a robust and secure ICT ecosystem in Pakistan.
