Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has expanded its strategic collaboration with Qvantel, a global provider of Digital BSS solutions, by establishing new operations, services, and support centers in Islamabad and Lahore. This move deepens an already strong partnership and enhances Jazz’s capacity to deliver seamless digital experiences to its more than 73 million mobile subscribers. The development marks a major step forward in building a robust localized digital infrastructure that aligns with the operator’s digital-first ServiceCo vision.
The newly launched centers are staffed by over 100 skilled professionals specializing in Business Support Systems (BSS). These experts will provide critical managed services and localized expertise, enabling Jazz to further refine and scale its backend operations. By housing this talent within Pakistan, Qvantel brings closer integration, faster execution, and more responsive support for Jazz’s rapidly evolving technology ecosystem.
In addition to launching dedicated service centers, Qvantel will now utilize Garaj, Jazz’s advanced cloud platform, for co-location and hosting needs. This decision ensures that infrastructure critical to Jazz’s services is hosted locally, reinforcing both scalability and security while aligning with Pakistan’s data sovereignty goals. The use of Garaj not only enables operational efficiency but also supports Jazz’s broader objective of establishing Pakistan’s most comprehensive cloud-based ecosystem for digital services.
Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at Jazz, emphasized the importance of strong technology alliances in the company’s transformation journey. He stated that Qvantel’s flexible Digital BSS platform has been instrumental in simplifying Jazz’s backend systems, optimizing performance, and enabling the launch of new digital revenue streams. He added that with Qvantel’s expanded presence in Pakistan, Jazz is now positioned to accelerate innovation while simultaneously enhancing real-time customer experiences.
Tero Kivisaari, President of Qvantel, highlighted the significance of this partnership in empowering digital change. He described Jazz as a prime example of how telecom operators can successfully implement a digital strategy that delivers real impact. By investing in Pakistan’s tech talent and embedding operations within Jazz’s digital framework, Qvantel aims to play a pivotal role in driving the country’s digital future.
The expanded collaboration strengthens Jazz’s transformation from a traditional telecom operator to a digital services platform. This includes a portfolio of offerings across fintech through JazzCash, entertainment via Tamasha, digital self-care with SIMOSA, InsurTech via FikrFree, enterprise cloud through Garaj, and gaming services with GameNow. The synergy between Jazz and Qvantel ensures that backend operations can support these verticals with agility, efficiency, and resilience.
As Pakistan’s digital landscape continues to evolve, the localized expertise provided by Qvantel and the deployment of scalable infrastructure underscore Jazz’s strategic commitment to delivering personalized, future-ready digital solutions. This partnership not only enhances operational capability but also contributes significantly to building a resilient and inclusive digital ecosystem tailored to Pakistan’s growing digital demands.
