Indus Cloud Limited, Indus DC REIT, and United Bank Limited have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding cloud computing and data center infrastructure across Pakistan. The collaboration focuses on supporting the country’s growing digital economy through locally hosted cloud services and enterprise grade infrastructure designed for both private and public sector organizations. The initiative is part of Master Group of Industries’ Indus Cloud and Data Center Project, which is being developed to provide Tier III compliant facilities alongside advanced cloud capabilities tailored to local market requirements.

Under the agreement, Indus DC REIT will lead the development and operation of purpose built data center infrastructure, while Indus Cloud Limited will provide cloud services designed to support secure and scalable digital operations. The project is intended to create a technology ecosystem capable of handling high performance computing requirements while addressing increasing demand for data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and reliable local hosting solutions. As organizations in Pakistan continue to shift toward digitized operations, the collaboration seeks to provide infrastructure that can support enterprise workloads, business continuity, and secure storage within the country. The partners believe localized cloud infrastructure can help reduce reliance on overseas hosting services while improving performance and regulatory compliance for enterprises operating in Pakistan.

UBL is joining the initiative as both a strategic investor and technology partner. The bank plans to utilize the infrastructure as part of its own digital transformation efforts and banking innovation initiatives. According to the announcement, UBL’s involvement brings financial backing and institutional expertise that will support the long term development of the project. The bank also intends to use the cloud and data center capabilities to strengthen its digital banking operations and customer services. Financial institutions in Pakistan are increasingly investing in secure digital infrastructure to improve operational resilience, enhance digital channels, and support expanding customer demand for online banking and financial technology services.

Speaking about the partnership, Rumman Dar, CIIO of Indus Cloud and DC REIT, said the collaboration represents an important step for Pakistan’s cloud ecosystem by combining international standard infrastructure with localized cloud services. He stated that the initiative is designed to help enterprises move toward cloud adoption with greater confidence while maintaining security, data sovereignty, and performance standards. Farrukh Karim Khan, Chief Strategy Officer at UBL, said the partnership aligns with the bank’s strategic priorities and strengthens its position in cloud enabled banking and infrastructure development. He added that the platform will support UBL’s efforts to enhance digital capabilities and improve customer experience. Through this collaboration, the three organizations aim to develop a scalable and secure cloud and data center environment that can support Pakistan’s broader digital transformation efforts and encourage cloud adoption across multiple industries.
