COMMTEL has partnered with HEC to conduct a three day Smart University Project Training program aimed at strengthening technical skills and supporting digital transformation across Pakistan higher education sector. The training is being delivered simultaneously in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar, while also connecting participants through multiple remote locations to ensure broader participation from universities across the country. The initiative reflects the continued collaboration between COMMTEL and HEC to enhance networking expertise and support the development of modern technology infrastructure within educational institutions. By bringing together university representatives and technology professionals, the program seeks to promote knowledge sharing and build the capabilities required to support the Smart University ecosystem.
The opening session was attended by senior representatives from both organizations and the technology industry. Ziyad Mehtab, Chief Commercial Officer at COMMTEL, welcomed Prof Dr Zia Ul Haq S.I, Executive Director of HEC, along with Naeem Ahmed, Director of Pakistan Education and Research Network at HEC, Engr Touqeer Khalid, Assistant Director of Pakistan Education and Research Network at HEC, Cisco trainer Atif, and representatives from participating universities. Their presence highlighted the collaborative approach behind the initiative and reinforced the shared objective of supporting universities through advanced networking knowledge and practical technical training. The program also provides an opportunity for participants to engage directly with experts while gaining insights into technologies that are becoming increasingly important for modern educational institutions.
According to COMMTEL, the Smart University Project Training has been designed to strengthen technical capacity and support institutions as they continue to adopt digital technologies.
