Google’s Gemini Spark AI agent has been made available in Pakistan for Google AI Ultra subscribers as part of its wider rollout across the Asia Pacific region. The company said the tool is designed to automate routine digital tasks and work in the background even when a user’s laptop is closed or mobile device is locked. Powered by Google’s cloud infrastructure, Gemini Spark connects natively with Google Workspace applications including Gmail, Docs and Sheets without requiring additional setup. The AI agent is designed to handle repetitive digital work such as customer inquiries, vendor invoices, schedules, travel details and documents, allowing users to provide direction while Spark carries out tasks on their behalf. Google said the tool represents a shift from AI functioning primarily as a reactive assistant toward an active partner capable of completing tasks autonomously under user direction.
Gemini Spark is powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash and is currently available to Google AI Ultra subscribers across Asia Pacific, including Pakistan. Google said availability will expand to Google AI Pro subscribers over the coming weeks. Despite its ability to operate autonomously, Google emphasized that users remain in control of Gemini Spark. Users can choose whether to enable the AI agent and determine which applications it is allowed to access. The system is also designed to request permission before completing high stakes actions, including making purchases or sending emails. This approach allows users to assign digital tasks to Spark while retaining control over access and actions that could have significant consequences. By integrating directly with Google Workspace, the agent can work with information already available across services and use that information to complete multi step tasks based on user instructions.
Among its capabilities, Gemini Spark can assist users with travel planning by extracting information from flight and hotel confirmation emails and adding those details to a Google Sheet. It can also identify local events during a trip and add suitable events to open spaces in a user’s calendar. For users who regularly track activities in their area, Spark can scan for relevant local events each week, compile important information and links into a Google Doc and add high priority recommendations to the calendar. The tool can also support court bookings by monitoring booking applications according to a schedule and checking weather forecasts, allowing it to alert users only when conditions are clear. These capabilities are designed to reduce the amount of manual work required for organizing information across emails, documents, spreadsheets and calendars.
Gemini Spark also includes features aimed at event coordination, expense management and customer communication. For event coordination, the agent can locate RSVPs in Gmail, compile dietary restrictions into a structured table and prepare summary emails for vendors. In expense management, Spark can review digital invoices, notify users when subscription prices increase or trial periods are approaching expiration and prepare cancellation emails for users to review. For customer service tasks, the AI agent can scan inboxes for customer inquiries and draft responses containing relevant service and pricing recommendations for user approval. Google also said Spark can analyse a user’s previous outgoing emails to create a customized writing style guide and use those preferences when preparing future correspondence. With its ability to combine information from multiple Google Workspace services and carry out connected tasks, Gemini Spark is positioned as an AI agent designed to automate routine digital workflows while allowing users to maintain control over access and approval of important actions.
