Garaj has announced the successful onboarding of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan to its sovereign cloud platform, marking a significant cloud migration initiative aimed at supporting one of the country’s large scale humanitarian organizations. The transition involves the migration of a nationally scaled and mission critical application used by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, with the organization moving its digital infrastructure to Garaj’s sovereign cloud environment. According to the announcement, the migration was completed without disruption to ongoing operations, highlighting the increasing role of localized cloud ecosystems in supporting organizations that rely on uninterrupted digital services to manage large operational footprints.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, known for its humanitarian and welfare operations across multiple sectors including healthcare, disaster relief, education, orphan care, and social welfare, manages systems that support large volumes of operational activity nationwide. As organizations handling high impact public services continue to modernize digital systems, maintaining reliability, security, and uninterrupted access remains a major requirement. Garaj stated that the migration was designed to support workloads where downtime is not considered an option, particularly for applications that contribute to services affecting millions of people. The company emphasized that the move to its sovereign cloud infrastructure was completed using VMware native migration capabilities, allowing the transition to take place without interrupting day to day functions.
The migration also included DDoS protected bandwidth as part of the infrastructure deployment, providing additional resilience against distributed denial of service attacks that can impact service availability. Sovereign cloud environments are increasingly gaining attention among enterprises and public service organizations seeking stronger control over data hosting, operational continuity, and localized compliance requirements. In Pakistan’s evolving technology ecosystem, organizations are showing growing interest in infrastructure models that combine performance with security and operational flexibility, particularly for workloads classified as essential or business critical. Garaj positioned the partnership as part of a broader effort to provide infrastructure capable of supporting organizations operating at national scale while maintaining service reliability.
The announcement highlighted contributions from members involved in the migration initiative, including Miqdad Ali Nasser, Muhammad Aneeq Abid, Muhammad Attaullah, Waqas Azim, and Ahmed Kazmi. While financial or contractual details surrounding the deployment were not disclosed, the collaboration reflects continued enterprise movement toward cloud based infrastructure capable of handling high availability requirements without interrupting existing operations. For organizations managing mission focused services across geographically distributed environments, technology decisions increasingly center around minimizing operational risk while ensuring systems remain accessible, scalable, and protected from disruptions. Garaj stated that its sovereign cloud infrastructure was designed to support missions that require continuous availability, reinforcing the importance of stable digital foundations for organizations serving large populations across Pakistan.
