ExD has announced the successful go live of the SAP S 4HANA Environment, Health and Safety Management solution at Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, marking what the company describes as Pakistan’s first implementation of SAP S 4HANA EHSM. The deployment represents an important milestone in the country’s enterprise digital transformation landscape and reflects a collaborative effort between ExD, SAP, and OGDC to modernize health, safety, environmental, and operational management through an integrated enterprise platform. According to ExD, the project demonstrates how digital technologies can support organizations in strengthening compliance, improving operational visibility, and managing workplace governance through a unified system designed for large scale enterprise environments.
The implementation delivers a comprehensive suite of Environment, Health and Safety Management capabilities within the SAP S 4HANA platform. These include Occupational Health and Safety, Incident Management, Permit to Work, Management of Change, Risk Management, Waste Management, Environmental Management, and Analytics and Reporting. By bringing these functions together under a single enterprise platform, OGDC is expected to gain improved visibility into operational processes while enhancing the management of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and organizational risk. ExD stated that the implementation extends beyond a standard technology deployment by establishing an integrated digital framework that supports critical business processes across one of Pakistan’s largest energy organizations. The solution is designed to streamline operational oversight, strengthen governance, improve reporting capabilities, and support informed decision making through centralized access to health, safety, and environmental data.
According to ExD, the project covered every stage of implementation, including solution design, system deployment, testing, user training, and production rollout. The company highlighted the close collaboration between its implementation teams, SAP specialists, and OGDC stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the successful delivery of the platform.
