Electronic Certification Accreditation Council ECAC hosted an awareness session focused on “Digital Signatures and Digital Society Maturity,” bringing together a wide range of stakeholders from Pakistan’s digital ecosystem. The session was designed to strengthen understanding of digital trust frameworks and highlight the role of secure digital identity systems in enabling a more mature and resilient digital society. Participants from government institutions, telecom operators, cybersecurity organizations, and audit and certification bodies attended the event, reflecting a broad-based engagement across the national technology landscape.
A key highlight of the session was the presentation by Dr. Péter Máté Erdősi from Crowe FST Hungary, who delivered insights on Public Key Infrastructure PKI and its role in advancing digital trust in Pakistan. His discussion focused on how PKI frameworks support secure communication, authentication, and digital transaction integrity, which are essential components of modern digital governance systems. The session emphasized the importance of strengthening foundational trust mechanisms to support the continued expansion of digital services across both public and private sectors.
Participation from major national institutions added significant depth to the discussion, including Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan MoIT&T, Pakistan Digital Authority PDA, National Telecommunication Corporation NTC, National CERT Pakistan Banking Sector, Trust Service Providers TSP, and representatives from the telecom sector including Jazz. Technology and audit professionals from Ascertia and Crowe Pakistan also contributed to the dialogue, bringing technical and compliance perspectives to the discussion on digital transformation and trust infrastructure. The diversity of participants highlighted the collaborative nature of efforts being made to strengthen Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
The session also acknowledged contributions from international and national experts, including Dr. Istvan Grafjodi, along with industry participants such as Abdul Wahid Khan Jawad Habib LT UFONE, Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim, Asfand Yar Khan, Muhammad Babar Khan, Sophia Hasnain, Jawad Khalid Mirza, Masood Pervaiz FCA CIA CISA ISO ISMS LA LI, Liaquat Khan, Yasir Khan, and Dr. Sohail Munir. The event concluded with appreciation for the active engagement of all participants, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing digital identity systems, strengthening PKI frameworks, and improving overall digital society maturity in Pakistan.
